  • Description

The Clover A1c test cartridge is designed for the determination of glycated hemoglobin A1c on the Clover A1c analyzer, manufactured by Infopia, Republic of Korea.

The CLOVER A1c test cartridge consists of a base and a reagent part.

The basic part is a plastic cuvette containing several mutually communicating cavities inside, as well as special zones in which the A1c fraction and total hemoglobin are measured by spectrophotometry.

Reagent part: consists of a capillary for blood collection (4 ml.), located on a long leg, as well as a block with reagents (reaction and flushing rastovor).

Conducting a study using the CLOVER A1c test cartridge:

  • Insert the base part into the analyzer;
  • Shake the reagent part several times to make the reaction solution homogeneous;
  • Touch the capillary to the surface of the blood drop, and the volume required for the study will automatically fill the inner part of the capillary.
  • Insert the reagent part with the filled capillary into the analyzer and close the lid.
  • The analysis will start automatically, and the result of the analysis will be in 5 minutes.

Important!

Whole capillary or venous blood with or without any anticoagulant can be used for the analysis. Shelf life of blood before examination: up to 7 days at a temperature from 2 to 8.

Glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) is perhaps the only objective laboratory indicator that not only characterizes the quality of compensation for diabetes mellitus (DM), but also, as shown by the results of large studies (DCCT, UKPDS), is a marker of the risk of complications of this disease. Moreover, compliance with the requirements for standardization and mandatory certification of the HbA1c measurement allowed it to be used to diagnose hidden forms of carbohydrate metabolism disorders (recommendations of the ADA – American Diabetes Association).

The CLOVER A1c analyzer is a professional standardized and certified laboratory equipment (IFCC and NGSP certificates), that is, in accordance with international standards, it can be used in laboratories of medical institutions for the study of HbA1c.
